CD-R is the noisey future of russian youth. With their ep "Concentration" the listener is submerged in a nocturnal corridor of machine hum with the only respite being a blast of radio static and lofi noise played at over saturated levels. Then CD-R goes beneath audible levels to further destroy your subconscious mind. A pleasant operation is guaranteed. "Project CD-R started in December 2002(Moscow) by Nikita Golyshev and Stas Bobkin. Salarymen is the electro-acoustic duo of Jeff Surak and Gary Rouzer. On lunch breaks in downtown Washington, D.C., they set up at traffic circles and monuments for spontaneous performances of sound art, mixing small objects with the noises of the city to make a different kind of urban music. Recorded outdoors during lunch breaks in various traffic circles and street corners of Washington DC throughout 2013. Gary Rouzer - objects, tapes, etc. Jeff Surak - objects, tapes, etc.

Live performance recorded March 8, 1988 in Arlington, Virginia at the Lee Community Center. Both bands were billed to play separately but decided to play simultaneously instead. Opening were 2 teenage punk bands, as the show was a benefit for the community center, whereas both NC and moreso SGBC were older than the 300 punk kids in attendance, and their usual old long hair psycho fans had a difficult time getting in. After the first 10 minutes of the performance most of the crowd left leaving...

The ever so active Christian Dergarabedian, aka C.D., aka Earzumba dug up an old recording of him and two boys from Brazil, of whom I never heard: Paulo Beto, of the electronic bossa-nova project Anvil FX and Eloi Silvestre, who builds his own instruments from the trash. Together they operate analogue synths, laptop, tapes, radio and percussion. The recording is from 2002, but sounds still like a very fresh thing. It moves away from the usual Earzumba material but is certainly also not the...

If, Bwana is the spawn of the godfather of the 1980's independent hometaping network, Al Margolis. This track is his live performance at the 2006 Sonic Circuits Festival of Experimental Music which took place in Washington, DC. Minimal yet dense drones of a menancing and etheral nature for intense yet scary listening.

Cornucopia is the premiere sound art project to hail from the island of Puerto Rico. Claudio Chea and Jorge Castro have recorded numerous drone-a-thons on CDR which have been released by small labels from New York to Barcelona to Valencia, Le Mans and Mexico City. âC.worksâ is their first full length on the CD format, and to celebrate, they have asked for a little help from their friends. In all, fourteen other artists were asked (and some even asked in themselves!) to use Cornucopiaâs 37...

Michael Gendreau was born in California (1961). A musician since age 6, Gendreau went along to work with several group organizations, culminating in Crawling With Tarts (1983-1998), and using this group as a medium (along with the various uses made of it by co-founder Suzanne Dycus) for work in elementalism, attention to temporal and environmental persistence, and eventually, applications of parataxis. These final studies included the use of small motors and turntable mechanisms, mostly...
